Travel as the Bedouins have for thousands of years and get enticed by the mystical spirit of the world's largest desert - hostile but stunningly beautiful. No worries though - you will be accompanied by the natives of the Sahara. Our guides are from the Saharaoui tribe; they grew up in the desert and know the Sahara like the back of their hand.

Your day on a camel trek will start with a simple breakfast, fresh bread - baked in the embers of the fire - butter, jam, cheese, tea and coffee before breaking the camp. For two or three hours you will then ride your camel or walk alongside across the dunes. After an extended lunch break some more distance will be covered to reach the camp for the coming night. Put up your tent and enjoy the fabulous sunset before having dinner around the fire.

Itinerary

Camel Trek 5 days


Day 1	Scheduled flight via London, Paris, Frankfurt or Rome to Tunis. Private transfer to Douz with lunch stop en route. Dinner and overnight at the hotel Mouradi Douz****.

Day 2	Breakfast at the hotel, time for a stroll around the market in Douz and some last minute shopping, lunch at the hotel, 4x4 transfer to south of El Faouar for your camel trek. Dinner and overnight at bivouac in the open desert.

Day 3	Enjoy the freshly baked bread for breakfast before heading across magnificent sanddunes and open desert terrain on your Camel Trek. Breakfast, dinner and overnight at bivouac, picnic lunch in the open desert.

Day 4	Continue your camel trek to arrive at the oasis of Ksar Ghilane in the afternoon where you can slowly get used to civilization again in the comfort of the only true desert hotel, the Pansea Ksar Ghilane where you have dinner and your overnight stop.

Day 5	Breakfast at the hotel, 4x4 transfer to Djerba with some sightseeing and a lunchstop en route. You have an opportunity for shopping in the souks before you board the short internal flight to Tunis to connect with your international flight back home.
